One may call it a secret but I would rather say it’s a simple fact that people often forget. The secret to improving your culinary skills is… PRACTICING and making mistakes. You can’t get better at something if you are not practicing, the same goes for cooking. Only by making mistakes you can learn and actually figure stuff out so don’t get discouraged if your cookies come out flat and rock hard or your soup is too salty. :) Analyze what went wrong and simply try again and before you realize you will be mastering it! Practicing recipes you already know is as important as discovering new ones when learning to cook at home.

Who doesn’t love comfort food right?

Here I bring you a quick pizza dough recipe for one of those nights when you wanna try making pizza at home. Grab you measuring spoons, they will come in handy here.

Ingredients:

  • 360 grams all-purpose flour or bread flour (all-purpose flour is good but bread flour will give you crunchier crust)
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup of warm water (45 degrees C )

optional: 1/8–1/4 teaspoon garlic powder and/or dried basil leaves

Take flour, yeast, sugar, salt, warm water (optionally garlic powder or dried basil) and combine it all together in a bowl. Set the dough aside for 10 minutes and start preparing all your favorite ingredients to put on top later on!

Add olive oil and work the dough for a bit. Set it aside for another 30 minutes. Place the bowl in a room where it’s warm and cover the top of the bowl with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap.

Set your oven to 200 degrees C (turn the function with the fan; airflow) so can it heat up when your pizza dough is growing.

Take out the dough after 30 minutes and now it’s time to stretch out your pizza dough! You can either use a rolling pin or you can use your hands. I prefer hands but see what works for you.

I always brush the entire surface of the pizza with olive oil (be generous here), after that use a fork to poke holes over the dough to prevent any bubbles from forming while it bakes.

Now put all your pizza favorite topping and place it in the oven for 15–20 minutes! Check your pizza now and then to see if it’s done already since every oven have different power. The time can extend if you add a great number of toppings.

Hope you use this recipe soon!

Sending love ❤
