This is a recipe I wish I knew earlier! I can’t count all the times that I threw away stale bread. My granny was really upset that I was throwing away bread so she told me to make croutons instead! Here I bring you this super easy recipe with only 3 main ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • Bread: Ideally at least a day or two old.
  • Olive oil
  • Seasonings: I always use garlic powder, salt, pepper and Italian seasoning but you can add whatever you like! Sometimes I also sprinkle some Parmesan cheese on top.

Instructions:

  • Dice your bread: Cut it in whatever size you prefer (I like 1cm cubes). Remember to cut them evenly so they all cook the same.
  • Mix the seasoning and the oil in a large bowl then drizzle the bread evenly with it. Mix gently until every piece of bread is coated.
  • Reheat oven to 180°C. Grab a baking sheet and put parchment paper on it, set aside for now.
  • Place bread cubes on a baking sheet on top of the parchment paper and spread it evenly in a single layer.
  • Bake until golden, turning once halfway through cooking in order to brown all sides of the croutons. Cooking time will depend on the thickness of the cubes, so watch to be sure that they do not burn. If they start to get too brown, lower the heat and let them bake lower and slower.
  • Remove from oven, and let cool completely. Use immediately, or store in an air-tight container for up to 1 week.

I hope you like this recipe and until next time! ❤
